JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Co-Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager to join our growing Partner Excellence team. This role will be instrumental in commissioning and supporting operations at newly onboarded manufacturing partners and will serve as a key QA resource for future external partnerships. The role requires a high degree of independence, on-site presence during start-up phases, and collaboration with both internal pillar leads and external plant leadership.
The Co-Manufacturing QA Manager – Partner Excellence will ensure that all Good Culture products manufactured at partner sites meet our quality standards, regulatory requirements, and "gold standard" expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a lead QA representative during commissioning, ramp-up, and trials at co-manufacturing partner facilities, primarily in Michigan and Midwest locations
- Act as the primary point of QA contact for assigned co-manufacturing partners, driving consistency, issue resolution, and QA alignment
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure trial success and product readiness
- Train co-man teams on Good Culture’s SOPs, sensory expectations, and Critical to Quality parameters
- Monitor facility adherence to key manufacturing SOPs including testing protocols, sanitation practices, palletizing, and storage
- Conduct audits and ongoing monitoring of partner facilities
- Support complaint investigations and CAPA implementation, gathering cross-functional input and driving resolution
- Participate in regular co-manufacturing partner meetings, identifying quality improvement opportunities and surfacing risks early
- Oversee the collection and analysis of sensory, micro, and specification data to ensure trend stability and product performance
- Support the QA team’s involvement in cross-functional initiatives related to partner development and quality improvement

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- 25% travel is required, which ebbs & flows based on business needs
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or closely related field preferred
- 5 to 7 years of Quality experience in a food plant (preferably dairy). Cross functional experience Including time in Operations a plus
- Certifications: SQF, PCQI, Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement, GMP’s, HACCP, SQF
- Direct experience with external manufacturing or co-man partnerships preferred
- Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
- Strong experience with auditing, sanitation/CIP systems, and root cause analysis
- Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to drive accountability without direct authority
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and SPC for Microsoft Excel
