Senior Designer

LOCATION: Remote

REPORTS TO: Chief Growth Officer
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 10%

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:

Good Culture is looking for a Senior Designer with a proven track record of creating breakthrough design work for high-growth emerging CPG brands. You bring vision and range across consumer touchpoints – equally at home crafting a campaign concept, directing a packaging design project, creating a POS or a digital asset or producing an event. You are a creative visionary who can help build a brand from the inside out and you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty. You solve problems visually while ensuring alignment with brand standards and objectives. You are fanatical about the details, ensuring all brand touch points are cohesive, on brand, and always bold! Expect the balance of this role to be 30% strategy and brand direction, and 70% design and design production. This highly collaborative role reports to the Chief Growth Officer, and will work closely with the marketing team, cross-functional partners, and external agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be Good Culture’s creative visionary and expert; align creative projects with company and brand identity and positioning.
  • Partner with CGO, Brand Director and Marketing Director to translate company goals and high-level strategic direction into breakthrough creative ideas and campaigns.
  • Present and communicate design concepts to the team, delivering assets across a variety of marketing touchpoints (campaign, social media, packaging, point of sale, events, etc.); incorporate ideas and feedback from the Co-Founder and the broader Marketing team, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
  • Manage and direct external creative agencies and freelancers.
  • Lead packaging projects for innovation and redesign initiatives end-to-end.
  • Hold ridiculously high standards for quality and consistency for how Good Culture shows up in the world; build and maintain brand guidelines and visual identity systems.
  • Execute with craft and speed – concept, design, and produce deliverables across all channels, both independently and in partnership with agencies.
  • Know our consumer and the marketplace; stay informed about industry trends, competitor branding and emerging design technologies to help keep the brand fresh and competitive.
  • Manage deadlines, file prep, and release final artwork to suppliers, maintaining strict control over specs, color profiles, and material constraints.
  • Oversee print quality, press checks (remote or in-person as needed), and color accuracy across multiple production vendors.
  • Manage creative budgets and timelines.
  • Manage and prioritize projects effectively, have a strong ability to balance multiple deliverables and goals all at once.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6-8 years’ work experience as a designer for a brand or marketing firm, including print and digital graphic design plus a minimum of two years or equivalent with a heavy digital focus, ideally within food or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • B.A. or B.S. in graphic design, art or related field or equivalent academic and work experience required.
  • Design portfolio demonstrating high-quality packaging and related visual assets across both physical and digital touchpoints. Include a link with resume.
  • Experience building and scaling an emerging CPG brand is required.
  • Professional level knowledge of industry standard design software and tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, etc.
  • Experience with digital content such as websites, social media, online advertising, and email campaigns
  • Experience working with printers, packaging suppliers and co-manufacturers
  • Photography/videography skills a plus (photo: product and studio primarily, video: primarily short format, social media).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thrive in a fast-moving environment – juggle multiple projects, hit deadlines, and never let quality slip
  • Bring a positive, enthusiastic, and solution-oriented attitude to all challenges.
  • Be resourceful, be scrappy, and lead by example always.
  • An entrepreneurial passion and grit.
