Quality Operations Manager
LOCATION: Mt. Pleasant, MI (Hybrid)

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Quality Operations Manager to join our growing Partner Excellence team. This role will be instrumental in commissioning and supporting operations and Quality with our Contract Manufacturer. The role requires a high degree of independence, on-site presence, and collaboration with both internal pillar leads and external plant leadership to drive alignment and effectiveness across all manufacturing activities.
The Quality Operations Manager will ensure that all Good Culture products manufactured at this site meet our quality standards, regulatory requirements, "gold standard" expectations, and production goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary liaison between Good Culture and our Contract Manufacturer with a focus on ensuring a high level of safety, quality, and operational excellence
- Review production forecasts and align with Co-man production planning to ensure proper inventory amounts of all materials
- Train co-man teams on Good Culture’s SOPs, sensory expectations, and Critical to Quality parameters
- Monitor facility adherence to key manufacturing SOPs including testing protocols, sanitation practices, palletizing, and storage
- Conduct audits and ongoing monitoring of partner facilities
- Support complaint investigations and CAPA implementation, gathering cross-functional input and driving resolution
- Participate in regular co-manufacturing partner meetings, identifying quality improvement opportunities and surfacing risks early
- Oversee the collection and analysis of sensory, micro, and specification data to ensure trend stability and product performance
- Ensure specification compliance through quality and productivity improvement meetings, scorecards, trackers, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Key tasks include: production scheduling, inventory analysis, daily production reports, and product retain analysis.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, Dairy Science or closely related field preferred
- 5 to 7 years of Quality experience in a food plant (preferably dairy). Cross functional experience Including time in Operations a plus
- Certifications: SQF, PCQI, Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement, GMP’s, HACCP, SQF, Six Sigma
- Direct experience with external manufacturing or co-man partnerships preferred
- Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
- Strong experience with auditing, sanitation/CIP systems, and root cause analysis
- Experience with manufacturing in an FDA environment; Preferred food and / or liquid processing manufacturing; high speed dairy and aseptic processing a plus
- Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to drive accountability without direct authority
- Data driven approach to delivering innovative continuous improvement (CI) solutions to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, produce product more efficiently, and improve relationships with our Co-Man.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and SPC for Microsoft Excel
