Ownership of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Packhouse processes and employees
Train new Packhouse Production Assistants in accordance with onboarding and training policies
Proactive performance management of all Packhouse employees including delivery of any corrective actions in partnership with Human Resources in Food Safety, Employee Safety, Time & Attendance, Conduct, and Performance
Lead daily team meetings to communicate schedule, goals, training needs, and any other announcements with the Packhouse team
Manage labor costs, employee schedules, sick time, and PTO, minimize OT, and maintain a sense of urgency and daily efficiency
Production & Efficiency
Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and apply LEAN principles to the Packhouse operations to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
Communicate with team throughout the day to ensure that schedule is being met. Adapt schedule to achieve daily goals where needed.
Order and manager inventory of all necessary materials.
Set pace and schedule for the day based on production plan. Communicate schedule effectively to the team leads. Escalate issues with the schedule to plant leadership.
Employee & Food Safety Compliance
Ensure that all employee and food safety requirements are being met, training is completed, and logs are filled out.
Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally a food or packaged good manufacturing environment
Hunger and curiosity to make processes better and more efficient
Ability to connect with and inspire a diverse set of employees
