WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive Security/Safety Coordinator to support the safety and security of our facilities, personnel, and assets. Reporting directly to the Security Supervisor, with a dotted line to the safety manager and plant operations, this role plays a vital part in day-to-day safety/security operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures while helping to create a safe and secure work environment for all employees and visitors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Key Security Responsibilities:
- Assist the Security Supervisor and the Facility Operations Manager with coordinating daily security and safety operations and protocols.
- Monitor and manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and alarm systems.
- Maintain up-to-date records of incident reports, visitor logs, and security documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., emergency services, contractors) for site access, emergency response, and incident resolution.
- Conduct routine inspections and patrols to ensure compliance with security policies and identify potential risks.
- Provide support during emergency situations, including evacuations and drills.
- Train and brief new hires or temporary staff on site-specific security procedures.
- Support investigations of security incidents, preparing documentation and reporting findings.
- Ensure all security-related equipment is functional and maintained regularly.
- Conduct department safety performance audits, new employee orientations, Safety Assessments at sites throughout facilities.
- Coordinate/facilitate required safety training, drills, and all licensing.
- Coordinate, maintain and update department safety rules booklets and conduct PPE assessments when necessary.
- Submit requisitions for safety supplies / PPE, maintain records relating to personnel, equipment, supplies and complete reports.
- Ensure that all necessary safety materials, supplies, and equipment are available by maintaining an inventory of equipment and materials.
- Monitor Safety Plans, deliverables, and training; safety training programs; emergency response plans; Inspect workspaces and layout facilities to meet safety objectives and comply with regulations.
- Provide day-to-day phone and email support to assigned areas, maintain all written records for reporting, analysis and decision-making, also keep up to date on new regulations and policy changes.
Key Safety Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and security regulations and escalate concerns to the Security Supervisor.
- Assist departments with all accident / incident / injury / illness investigations, provide support; assist with health and safety investigations.
- Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork participate in the weekly Safety meeting and prepare for operations.
- Utilize required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear and perform a safety audits on equipment and throughout the facility.
- Conduct department safety performance audits, new employee orientations, Safety Assessments at sites throughout facilities.
- Coordinate/facilitate required safety training, drills, and all licensing.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience in a security or safety-related role, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
- Working knowledge of access control systems, CCTV, and basic emergency response protocols.
- Excellent observational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- OSHA 10 Certificate and Bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- Valid security license/certification (if applicable by jurisdiction).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred 0-1 year in health and safety role, OSHA experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- May be required to sit or stand for an extended period during work period.
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
- 1st Shift (8:00am 5:00pm) Monday through Friday, when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory.
