About the Position:
The FSQA Technician is responsible for assuring adherence to the Plant’s Quality Assurance programs. They will be a key member of the team and engaged in establishing, implementing, documenting, and monitoring Food Safety and Quality programs at the Verde Farm’s facility. In addition, this person will assist in the development of programs that will address any opportunities and implement program upgrades. This is a hands-on position. This position reports to the Manager of FSQA.

About the Position:
The FSQA Technician is responsible for assuring adherence to the Plant’s Quality Assurance programs. They will be a key member of the team and engaged in establishing, implementing, documenting, and monitoring Food Safety and Quality programs at the Verde Farm’s facility. In addition, this person will assist in the development of programs that will address any opportunities and implement program upgrades. This is a hands-on position. This position reports to the Manager of FSQA.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Performing pre and/or post-operational inspections.
- Monitor and document adherence to the food safety program.
- Assure observance and execution of the policies and procedures (i.e., GMP Policy and Personnel Hygiene Policy).
- Performing calibration checks, including but not limited to thermometers, scales, and other process monitoring devices.
- Accountable for accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and maintenance of documents.
- Work a flexible schedule as needed to ensure proper coverage during all production times.
- Required to have or obtain a working knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis / Critical Control Point).
- Provide additional support and perform other duties as requested by management, within the scope and abilities
Summary of Experience and Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to multi-task and communicate with personnel of all levels and cultural backgrounds.
- Minimum 2 years of food manufacturing experience
- Knowledgeable food production methods, sanitary standards, and hygiene practices.
- Food quality or food safety background preferred.
- It must be comfortable walking for extended periods in a cold environment.
- Strong ability to work autonomously and effectively meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
- At times, it will be required to go into various areas of the facility, subject to temperature and humidity changes
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to work under, comply with, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedures set forth by Verde Farms
- Bilingual in Spanish (is a plus, not a requirement)
- Highly collaborative, perceptive, operate with integrity
