Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Automation Technician will be responsible for configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting robotics, as well as other automated systems used in production. Their primary goal is to increase the efficiency and reliability of plant automated systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Support crew members by monitoring all automated and robotic processes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated processing and inspection equipment, robotic systems, PLC’s, electronics, other automated systems.
  • Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robotic controllers, and end-of-arm tools.
  • Optimize robot movements to enhance production performance.
  • Perform preventative or corrective maintenance and calibration on robotic systems and components to increase reliability.
  • Enhance vendor relationships with equipment providers and maintain all robotic/automation documentation.
  • Capable of operating and training crew to use and maintain robotic and automated equipment.
  • Document robotics test procedures and results, Prepare procedural documents, document design or operational test results.
  • Preferred experience: Yaskawa robots, B&R PLC, Alan Bradley, Beckhoff, IEC Schematics, Cognex Vision, Keyence Vision
  • This role will require an onsite presence Monday- Friday in Springfield, Missouri

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3+ years progressive and practical experience and/or education setting up, programming, robotics and automation equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, and vision controls
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
  • Experienced using various electrical multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and hand/power tools.
  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Automation Technology, Mechatronics Technology or equivalent.
