Finding the right place to grow your career isn’t (over) easy, so we’re here to help by sharing a few reasons why the grass is greener at Vital Farms. We think you’ll appreciate our focus on Conscious Capitalism, which drives business decisions that benefit all our stakeholders (leading to even better business results). You might be drawn to our innovative approach and refusal to settle for the “way things have always been done.” Or you could find it exciting to grow your skills while working for an industry-leading brand. Whether you’re into our values, our brand, or our egg-cellent puns, we hope you’ll join our Crew and help us change the world 108 square feet at a time!

You like to make things happen and work with fun, super smart, and, most importantly, off the charts caring people who give a sh*t about what we do, how we do it and the impact we have*. You are known for pursuing solutions at the drop of a hat, bringing everyone together, and being the one that plans out all vacation details. Previous companies didn’t know how they existed without you because of your ability to collaborate, drive results, bring order to chaos, and deliver with a positive can-do attitude.

At Vital Farms, we are building out our Strategic Execution Team to build our strategic execution capabilities, take on tricky cross functional projects, work with our awesome crew (see *description* above), and make stuff happen. Note: If you just like making pretty Project Plans, and don’t like bringing them to life then read no further.

What You'll Do

  • Drive forward strategic projects; you get excited about being brought into the strategic vision and even more excited about getting into the details and bringing it to life
  • Implement strategies with excellence, nimbly adjusting plans and making trade-offs to best serve the broader business and stakeholder objectives, and bringing others along while you do it
  • Activate Portfolio Management best practices (e.g., recommend priorities and trade-offs to ensure we meet – or exceed – our goals)
  • Bring our PMO, Portfolio / Program / Project Management game to the next level by bringing best practices and evolving for Vital Farms (we’ve got some good stuff going…but are ready to bring things to the next level) – and continuously improve our practices, including being a player / coach for our Program / Project Management Office:
    • Lead and develop PM professionals by bringing best practices, driving critical thinking, leading teams to search for non-standard solutions when required
    • Taking on the PM role: Scope and plan programs / projects (from setting goals and objectives to KPIs), with just enough rigor but not too much and execute with excellence (but don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good). In doing so ensure optimal return on investment and delegate effectively
    • Develop PM skills throughout the broader org
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate! And regularly meet with stakeholders to ensure transparency of progress, status, change, issues, and decisions
  • Identify ways to improve how we work and take waste (because time is our more valuable asset) out of the system; work cross functionally and drive change management to make the changes happen and stick (think lean, Kaizen)

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experienced project leader with experience getting things done. You either have a background in broader project management (e.g., consulting) or are a PMO / project management leader (5-7 years) with CPG experience (and both are a plus!)
  • Proven track record of experience managing projects
  • Proven Organizational Change Management experience and stakeholder management skills:
    • you listen actively and share your thoughts
    • you run hard and inspire others to take them others along
    • you think out of the box and can problem solve your way out of a box
    • you balance the strategic and tactical
    • you have a bias for action (i.e., you ask “how can we?” vs. “can we?”) and look before you leap
    • you excel in ambiguous situations and add a little order to chaos
    • You can prioritize and work in an agile environment
