Your Role:

As the Director of Operations Accounting, you will be instrumental in driving our standard costing initiatives as part of our Digital Transformation team. You will lead the implementation of standardized costing methodologies, leveraging your expertise in cost accounting and process optimization. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and developing our standard costing department, ensuring that it becomes a center of excellence within our organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement Standard Costing Practices: Lead the implementation of standardized costing methodologies across our organization, ensuring consistency and accuracy in cost accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with Digital Transformation Team: Work closely with our Digital Transformation team to integrate standard costing practices into our ERP system, with a particular emphasis on Dynamics 365 ERP.
  • Build and Develop the Operations Accounting Department: Recruit, train, and develop a team of accounting professionals, establishing the operations accounting department as a key contributor to our organization's success.
  • Optimize Costing Processes: Identify opportunities to streamline costing processes, leveraging technology and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Provide Strategic Insights: Partner with senior management to provide strategic insights and recommendations based on cost analysis, supporting decision-making and driving business performance.
  • Ensure Compliance and Controls: Establish and maintain cost accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine costing methodologies, tools, and processes to adapt to evolving business needs and industry best practices.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in accounting, with 5 years of cost accounting experience
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience required
  • CMA certification or CPA certification preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
  • Ability to travel regularly to all sites, 35-45% annually
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing standard costing methodologies and leading cost accounting initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving performance, achieving goals, and delivering value to the business.
