The Logistics & Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for all activities required to ensure accurate and timely receipt and shipment of orders. This includes coordination of the dock schedule, coaching and assisting leads, following up with freight carriers when needed, and completion of order management processes within the system. The ideal candidate for the role is organized and process / system oriented, communicates clearly and directly, acts with a sense of urgency, and understands the flow of data to solve problems. You will work closely with the shipping leads, production team, supply chain, and 3rd party logistics partners to meet the expectations and standards of Vital Farms and our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with other departments and leaders at ECS to ensure we win as a team and meet (or exceed) our daily production schedule targets.
  • Ensure all personnel safety, sanitation, and food safety procedures are followed without exception.
  • Directly manage Crew in their daily tasks, including performance reviews, on-the-job training, and coaching/disciplinary action
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with the training team to oversee and coordinate the development and up-skilling of your crew.
  • Prepare shipping paperwork for each day’s orders.
  • Communicate with drivers on-site to check them in and facilitate the smooth flow of freight in and out of the facility.
  • Assist shipping leads in managing the daily dock schedule, including consistent follow up for missed appointments.
  • Systematically receive inbound orders and fulfill outbound orders.
  • Assist in storage organization activities, identifying problems to be addressed, as time allows.
  • Act like an owner and identify areas to drive continuous improvement.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse or transportation role
  • High School diploma or GED required but a bachelor’s degree in supply chain or Operations is strongly preferred
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to work in a fluid, fast paced environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
  • Excel skills – ability to manipulate data using standard formulas / functionality and in templates created by others
