Your Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance will be responsible for analyzing and presenting financial data primarily related to our sales and marketing functions. This person should feel confident working in a fast-paced environment while identifying areas for continuous improvement and implementing strategies to optimize financial performance. The role requires a strong understanding of finance principles, retail operations, and trade performance, along with the ambition to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support monthly & quarterly close reporting and forecasting on all commercial P&L line items, including marketing, trade, slotting, coupons, and retailer deductions. Present insightful analyses to explain trends and forecast variances.
  • Continuously evaluate and streamline financial processes and reports. Identify areas for automation, standardization, and efficiency gains to enhance overall financial performance for all stakeholders. Develop and implement internal sales reporting and related KPIs by leveraging data visualization (PowerBI).
  • Act as a business partner and main point of contact for Marketing and Sales SG&A spend, including review of results, trends, and forecasting while providing insights and recommendations. Active thought partner on marketing budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support the development of the company’s annual operation plan (AOP) by organizing planned spend and providing budget recommendations. Continually monitor performance compared to AOP budget and take action with cross functional teams on any gaps.
  • Support commercialization and innovation projects by owning related financial analysis and SKU forecasting. Assist with SKU and retailer profitability.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, business administration, or relevant field
  • 3-5+ years of finance experience, preferably within the CPG industry with a minimum of 1-2 years in Commercial, Brand or Sales finance
  • Knowledge of trade, pricing principals, and SKU commercialization processes
  • MS Office skills with Advanced Excel skills; experience in Power BI or similar data visualization platform is preferred
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software; experience with Netsuite, Anaplan, or Microsoft D365 is a plus
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the desire to present and collaborate cross-functionally to influence decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel 15-25% travel for company and team meetings, offsites, onboarding trips and other business needs
