Reporting to the Plant Director, the Sr Maintenance & Facilities Manager will be responsible for developing, coaching, and leading the maintenance team and strategy for Vital Farms. You will do this by leading initiatives for predictive maintenance, continuous improvement, and the reduction of equipment downtime. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced subject matter expert in Maintenance, workplace safety, and data driven management and leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, train, and inspire your team to achieve excellence.
  • Partner with other departments and leaders to ensure we win as a team and meet (or exceed) our daily production schedule targets.
  • Provide strong leadership with a focus on a plant reliability mission, vision and strategic plan that is aligned with business needs.
  • Create and drive maintenance best practices through innovation, standardizing and improving work methods, and creating standard work instructions.
  • Set the standard for a safe work environment and safe work practices within the maintenance crew to develop a safety-first culture.
  • Help bring safe and ethical food to the table by ensuring all quality, sanitation, and food safety procedures are followed without exception.
  • Develop robust, effective, cross-functional and department communications to increase transparency and collaboration.
  • Develop partnerships with key stakeholders to develop reliability-focused production operations.
  • Grow your team through hiring, talent management, continued development, upskilling, coaching, and career progression.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our strategic suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Leverage data collection and analysis systems to improve equipment decision making capability while analyzing key performance indicators to improve processes.
  • Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing to ensure cost effect solutions without compromising quality.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and implement innovative maintenance solutions.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 10+ years’ experience in maintenance and facilities management.
  • 7+ years’ experience managing a team of people.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to Lean Concepts, layout design, cost/benefit analysis, labor productivity
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and understand technical specifications and terminology.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance CMMS software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of machine safety and safety regulations (e.g. OSHA)
