Your Role:
The key responsibility of the Sr. Category Analyst will be to work collaboratively with the Category and Sales team as well as cross-functional business partners to leverage sales data as well as shopper and consumer data to generate insights and provide recommendations. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong analytic mindset, natural curiosity, ability to tell stories both written and verbally, proactive nature, and the ability to work in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
What You'll Do:
- Utilize tools such as SPINS, Nielsen, Numerator and Circana to perform category and brand analysis to provide recommendations for stakeholders
- Develop and assist in creating fact-based, customer and category-oriented sales presentations that support both the customer’s and Vital Farms’ strategies and goals
- Assist Category Managers in creating best-in-class planogram recommendations for retailers
- A storyteller that can combine multiple data sources into a clear and compelling presentation supported with data visualizations
- Share insights and recommendations internally in the form of scorecards and ad-hoc projects on things like innovation and distribution
- Collect and summarize data beyond the topline to provide insights on business patterns, drivers and identify opportunities for growth
- Assist Sales partners to analyze and provide information including ad hoc data pulls, PowerPoint slide creation, and insights summaries
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Data Science/Analytics, Statistics or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in Category Management or Sales Analytics
- Ability to travel 15% for company onboarding, team meetings and other business needs
- Experience with both Panel and Syndicated Data (SPINS/Nielsen/Circana/Numerator/84.51)
- Proficiency in the following required: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
- Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously; must possess the confidence in delivering a work product that is accurate and complete
- Comfortable taking loosely defined business questions and translating them into clearly defined insights and recommendations
- Ability to articulate ideas, conclusions, and recommendations via presentations with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team as well as independently, but proactively ask for help when needed
- Ability to identify gaps and provide solutions
- Ability to establish effective professional business relationships with all levels of Stakeholders
- Experience in CPG, Natural, Retail or related industries preferred

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
