Your Role:

Director, Learning and Organizational Development Strategy is a key member of the People Leadership Team at Vital Farms, reporting into the Vice President of People Development. In this role you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team to strategically design and implement learning, development and engagement programs that drive transformative change, and provide solutions that strengthen business outcomes.

This role is crucial in helping to successfully lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development initiatives that cultivate leadership capabilities ensuring the organization has robust skills to solve future challenges and enhances the overall organizational performance and a culture of engagement. You will have the opportunity to work with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to help identify talent development needs, drive leadership excellence, and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a highly capable, distributed team of learning, engagement and organizational development professionals that support both our remote, farm and manufacturing teams
  • Provide your direct and indirect team with coaching, mentorship, and support, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles
  • In partnership with the VP of People Development and CPO, develop and execute a comprehensive learning and organizational development strategy aligned with business goals and objectives Vital Farms has established
  • Work with your team and People Leadership to develop, and design succession planning, talent assessment, key experiences, career development planning, culture-building initiatives, identification of high potential leaders, leadership training, and mapping talent strategies to business plans
  • Drive the design, development and execution of leadership, management and employee training and development programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and business performance
  • Oversee the creation of training materials, e-learning modules, and other educational resources, ensuring the right blend of in-house and vendor supported content to meet business needs
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement based on surveys, feedback, assessments and stakeholder interviews
  • Develop metrics and evaluation systems to measure the effectiveness and impact of training programs and systems (e.g., third party platforms and content, managerial effectiveness, organizational health, employee engagement, etc.)
  • Continuously assess the quality and outcomes of learning initiatives and make data-driven improvements based on the KPIs and insights gathered
  • Work in partnership with our Director of Inclusion and Belonging to support the design and implementation of programs that foster and develop an inclusive culture
  • Stay up to date on industry and discipline trends and best practices in leadership development and incorporate new methodologies and technologies into programs
  • Ensure strong tactical planning for alignment and visibility on all projects to enable effective stakeholder and end-user experience
  • Actively lead initiatives and support the organization’s capacity to change and achieve greater effectiveness through planned preventions and interventions
  • Works closely with relevant stakeholders and partners to lead change management initiatives to support the adoption of new processes, technologies, and ways of working.
  • Work with your team, People Business partners and cross-functional leaders to create and implement career development pathways
  • Communicate the value and impact of learning and development initiatives to the organization, incorporating the voice in the design.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development across the organization.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and trainers to deliver specialized leadership development programs or access external resources as needed

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Leveling for this role will be as follows:
    • Director, Learning and Organizational Development Strategy – Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Human Resources , Organizational Development or related field required. Preferred Advanced degree in Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred, or Bachelor’s degree 10+ years working experience in Human Resources, or equivalent and at least 8 years in Talent Management or Professional Development and 5+ years in a leadership role
    • Sr Director, Learning and Organizational Development Strategy– Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Human Resources , Organizational Development or related field required. Preferred Advanced degree in Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred, or Bachelor’s degree 12+ years working experience in Human Resources, or equivalent and at least 10 years in Talent Management or Professional Development and 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Ability to travel 25-30% to visit business sites, our production facility and for team/company meetings.
  • Extensive experience as content expert on organization effectiveness, organization assessment & design, change management, culture change, employee engagement, competency modeling and employee and leadership assessment and development.
  • Proven project management skills; clarifying goal, breaking down the work into a realistic work plan, engaging project team members, etc.
  • Proven track record of working with a team in the design and implementation of L&D roadmaps that include enterprise needs and enable bespoke business unit needs
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance management in both a manufacturing and corporate setting and corporate
  • Consultative, customer-centric orientation, in which customers feel heard and their voice helps share the roadmap and program content
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective learning solutions
  • Proclivity to act with curiosity, creativity and scrappiness to build the best quality and impactful product and programs
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and learning management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and take an idea from conception to successful and sustainable execution while managing competing priorities.
  • Proven success building credibility and operating with an elevated level of consulting, influencing and decision-making skills.
  • Persuasive communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor your communication to achieve maximum impact to a wide variety of employees (e.g., front line through executive)
  • Self-directed with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven track record of leading an OD function and advance skills in data analysis and performance a plus.

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 (dependent on leveling). Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
